What qualities do you look for in an applicant?
Apart from requiring the appropriate skills and qualifications, we look for initiative, good communication and team-working skills, as well as the ability to inspire others. For more senior and managerial positions, your proven leadership ability will also be important.
What does the recruitment process involve?
This differs depending on whether you join us in a retail store, contact centre, warehouse or in one of our support functions. Details will be provided at the time of the invitation to interview.
Is there a limit to the number of jobs I can apply for?
We recommend you don't apply for more than one or two jobs at once and you should always apply for the most appropriate role first.
Can I withdraw from an application if I change my mind?
Yes, simply email firstname.lastname@example.org with the job title and reference number of the role you applied for.
How will my performance be appraised?
As well as informal discussions with your line manager, you'll have a formal annual performance review. This is designed to help you set clear goals for the year ahead and to help identify the skills and support that you will need.
What opportunities are there to progress my career?
The size and diversity of our business means there are some great opportunities for you to go onwards and upwards, and we're opening new stores all the time. Whatever you want to do, whichever direction you want your career to take, there is a good chance we can help make it happen. All our roles are advertised internally before they are advertised externally.
Will you need any references?
Everyone who is offered a role will have a number of verification checks carried out by a third party. The checks will vary in relation to the position you applied for, and will include current/previous employment, education, and residency. Details on the process will be provided at the interview.

What training will I get?
Your personal development and training will vary depending on your role and and ability. However, all the training you will receive will be designed to help you get the most out of your career.
Where might I be located?
Generally locations will be specific against each individual job advertised. Where this is not the case, you will be advised of the exact location during the interview process.

Why can't I see any vacancies for my local store?
If your local store doesn't have any vacancies they won't appear on the recruitment site. Please keep checking the site on a regular basis as the recruitment situation is always changing.
Is there an age limit before I can apply?
Many of our vacancies are only open to applicants over 18 years of age because of health and safety requirements.
How will I know if my application has been successful?
If your application is successful we'll contact you within 2-3 weeks. We regret that we are unable to contact all applicants directly.
Will I need to show any documentation?
During the recruitment process we will need proof of your right to work in the UK. You'll also need documents to demonstrate you have at least twelve months UK driving experience.
